Our client CRU is a large Bible-based, interdenominational Christian youth organisation whose vision is to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the students at the independent schools of Australia, to nurture Christians, encourage church membership and train young Christians for a life of servant leadership. CRU achieves this through CRU Educational Camps, CRU Holiday Camps, and School Ministry, all supported by their two amazing camp and conference centre’s near Sydney: CRU Lake Mac and CRU Galston Gorge.
The Board is now seeking to appoint a leader to build on the solid foundation and strong growth that has been put in place by their predecessor and to bring with them their own set of unique skills and talent to this exciting leadership role. The Chief Executive Officer will give sound spiritual leadership and direction towards the achievement of the organisation’s mission, strategy and its annual goals and objectives. The CEO will oversee a large team of people in Sydney, Lake Macquarie, Galston and WA.
You will be responsible for leading the organisation to achieve the goals outlined in the strategic plan as well as working closely with the Board on the development of future strategic and organisational goals whilst ensuring that CRU does not drift from its Christian focus and vision. With a balance of strategic and hands-on operational skills, you will be responsible for revenue creation, annual budgets, accountable for program and service delivery, fundraising, HR and finance.
You will also;
- Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders including major donors, schools and particularly school heads, industry bodies, church leaders, governments and volunteers.
- Ensure that CRU meets all pertinent legislative standards and responsibilities including Child Protection, WHS, ACNC and Privacy matters.
- Develop practices to encourage the spiritual and professional growth of both staff and volunteers.
- Display awareness of cultural and political issues impacting Christian ministry organisations.
- Identify and implement improvements across the organisation.
The successful candidate will be a mature Christian with a proven track record of success in senior leadership roles where you have built, led and nurtured highly effective teams across multi-sites. We are looking for a servant- leader who is strongly aligned to the mission and values of this organisation who can inspire and influence others, build excellent relationships with key stakeholders, including major supporters, Schools and local Christian partners.
You will possess excellent leadership skills, be highly organised, have sound business and financial acumen, be tertiary qualified and can shape CRU culture and inspire staff.
Your knowledge and understanding of Christian Camping and your proven experience working with an active Board will be highly regarded. This is one of those great opportunities for someone who wants to use their exceptional leadership skills and talent to really make a difference in the lives of the next generation.
